Julie Fadda Powers has more than 25 years of experience in the magazine and publishing industry as both an editor and writer. Since 2005, she’s specialized in wine and food writing. Today, she oversees a staff of contributing writers who are specialists in their fields and help keep her abreast of the latest and most important news affecting the wine industry. When not at the editor’s desk, she often attends industry events of all types so she can discover what’s most important to the magazine’s readers and ensure lively, engaging content each issue. Prior to her position at VWM, she served as editor of NorthBay biz magazine, a regional business-to-business publication also based in Santa Rosa, for more than 10 years. Julie graduated from San Francisco State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in fine art. She moved to Sonoma County in 2000 and lives in Santa Rosa, Calif., with her husband and two sons.
Retail & Restaurant Columnist
Tim Teichgraeber cut his teeth in retail wine sales before becoming the wine columnist for the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Today he is a contributor to the San Francisco Chronicle, Tasting Panel, Opus Vino and other publications, when he’s not working as an entertainment lawyer in San Francisco.
Tyler Colman, author of the wine blog Dr. Vino, teaches wine classes at New York University and the University of Chicago, and wrote the book “Wine Politics: How Governments, Environmentalists, Mobsters, and Critics Influence the Wines We Drink.”
Jennifer Strailey has covered the food and wine industries as a writer and editor for 20 years. Her experience also includes public relations work for wineries and vineyards in California, Argentina and Italy. She is a contributing editor for Progressive Grocer magazine and is V&WM’s Spotlight/NewsFlash editor.
Viticulture & Enology Columnist
Remi Cohen is the vice president and general manager of Lede Family Wines in Napa Valley. Her primary areas of expertise include viticulture, sustainable vineyard management, winemaking, grower and winery relations, and strategic business development.
Gary Werner is a wine industry journalist and communications consultant based in Seattle, Wash.
Sean P. Sullivan is a contributing editor for Wine Enthusiast and is also the founder of Washington Wine Report, an online publication dedicated to the wines and wineries of the Pacific Northwest. Sullivan also writes regularly for Seattle Metropolitan, Washington Tasting Room, and Edible Seattle. He lives in Seattle, Wash.
Marguerite Thomas is a Baltimore-based journalist and photographer who contributes wine-related articles to several national and international publications. She is the author of the books "Wineries of the Eastern States" and "Visiting East Coast Wineries."
Deborah Parker Wong is the Northern California editor for The Tasting Panel magazine, and a longtime contributor to Vineyard & Winery Management. She earned her WSET Diploma in 2009.
